The Story Behind CurvKatha

Hi. My name is Kanchan RK Sharma. And CurvKatha is MY STORY..

CurvKatha was born from years of quiet pain, invisible tears, and unspoken strength.

I have always been a curvy girl. And like many plus-size women, my body became a topic of discussion long before my dreams did. I was mocked, judged, laughed at, and constantly reminded that I didn’t fit into the definition of “acceptable.” After marriage and motherhood, the criticism grew louder. My body changed and with it, the way people treated me changed too. I was made to feel like I didn’t belong. Like I had to apologize for taking up space.

Every shopping experience became a reminder of that exclusion. Limited sizes. Poor fits. Dull colours. Clothes that asked me to hide instead of shine. I wasn’t choosing clothes. I was settling. Settling for what was available. Settling for less than I deserved.

And slowly, I realised something painful yet powerful:
If this is what I was experiencing, how many other women were feeling the same way?

CurvKatha was created for every woman who has been told, directly or indirectly, that her body is a problem. It is for women who haven’t lost their sense of style, but have lost touch with their confidence. Women who love festivals, family moments, and dressing up, but feel anxious when it’s time to step out.

At CurvKatha, we don’t design/curate clothes to hide curves.
We design/curate them to honour them.

Every Anarkali we create/curate is made with thought: flattering silhouettes, comfortable fabrics, graceful flow, and details that feel festive yet effortless. From simple kurta sets to elegant premium sets, our collections are designed/curated to meet women where they are and gently remind them of who they are!!

CurvKatha stands for quiet confidence, comfort without compromise, and elegance without conditions.

More than fashion, we offer a feeling.
The feeling of standing taller.
The feeling of liking what you see in the mirror.
The feeling of being seen, without having to change yourself.

CurvKatha is not about becoming someone else.
It is about coming back to yourself.

CurvKatha doesn’t just make clothes in bigger sizes.
We design festive wear from the inside out! Starting with the emotions, insecurities, and desires of a curvy woman. So every Anarkali gives her confidence, comfort, and grace, not just coverage.

CURVKATHA'S CORE VALUES

Radical Honesty & Integrity

We believe trust is built quietly and kept consistently.
From sizing and fabric descriptions to pricing and policies, we commit to honesty. No exaggeration, no manipulation, no false promises. Our word matters, because our customers’ confidence depends on it.

Empathy-Led Design

CurvKatha is designed from lived experience, not assumptions.
We deeply understand the emotional weight plus-size women carry, and every design decision is made with sensitivity to their bodies, comfort, and feelings.

Confidence Before Fashion

Fashion is not our end goal - confidence is.
Every piece we create must help a woman stand taller, feel seen, and reconnect with her self-worth. If it doesn’t make her feel confident, it doesn’t belong at CurvKatha.

Quiet Luxury & Premium Quality

We believe luxury doesn’t need to be loud.
Our focus is on premium fabrics, graceful finishes, and craftsmanship that feels elegant, comfortable, and lasting, not excessive, overwhelming, or intimidating.

Value With Dignity

We respect the emotional and financial investment our customers make in themselves.
CurvKatha is committed to offering fair, thoughtful value, where pricing reflects quality, effort, and care, without exploitation or compromise.

Respect for Emotional & Physical Wellbeing

We treat our customers’ bodies, minds, and emotions as sacred.
We do not shame, rush, pressure, or judge. We create a safe space where women feel protected, understood, and welcomed - always.

Rebellious Grace

CurvKatha challenges outdated beauty norms, quietly but confidently.
We are rebellious in purpose, but classy in expression. We don’t scream for attention; we make a statement through dignity, elegance, and self-respect.
